Crossborder Capital

Educated at Bristol and London Universities, Michael founded CrossBorder Capital in 1996. He began his career as Research Director at Salomon Bros, where he developed the powerful and highly regarded quantitative liquidity research methodology now used.

He was appointed Head of Research at Baring Securities in 1992 and became top-ranked “Emerging Market Strategist” by institutional investors for the three years prior to setting up CrossBorder Capital.

His association with William at Linchpin – stemming from both professional and personal synergy – goes back to 2005 and together they have helped to provide services to over 30 clients during this period.

Michael has worked in financial markets since 1981 and is a regular international conference speaker. He has consulted for the World Bank, is a qualified US Supervisory Analyst and has a Masters in Economics.

Married with four children and now living in Oxford, one of Michael’s lesser-known claims to fame is that he was the first – and last – economist to appear on the Jimmy Young Show.‚Äč

For over 30 years, Mukesh has played a major role in the international corporate world in areas such as Risk, Audit, Compliance and Business Management, with such prestigious names as British Airways. In more recent years, he has undertaken several, largely non-executive roles with pension funds and within the 3rd Sector.

He is highly regarded in local government areas of Pension and Audit, having been quoted in numerous articles and papers and in Government responses to consultations. With particular skills and experience in asset allocation and strategy, he also acts as Chair of the Local Pension Panel which oversees a fund selection in excess of £1 billion. He has also presided as Chair to many charities and 3rd Sector organisations. With a rare mix of advisory, trouble-shooting and people-management skills, his current non-executive and 3rd Sector roles make impressive reading and include:

- Chair of London Borough of Hounslow Pension Fund

- Vice Chair of Audit, London Borough of Hounslow

- Director of Thamesbank Credit Union

- Chair of water-based Charity Roll Out The Barrel Trust

- Deputy Mayor of The London Borough of Hounslow

So no slouching on the sofa watching daytime TV for this gentleman. Meanwhile, his qualifications also bear testament to his energy and commitment: From the University of Salford whilst travelling the globe in his role at British Airways, Mukesh gained a Masters Degree in Management & IT. He also holds a specialist qualification of CISM – Certified Information Security Manager – issued by ISACA.

In his “down time”, through his involvement with the Hounslow Rotary, he has co-founded a project called “Rotary Worlds Greatest Meal to Help End Polio” - a project which has potentially saved the lives of 13.5 million children. Married with three children, he has recently become a grandfather of three... another great reason for keeping him on his toes!
